What Is Stretch Film?

Stretch film is a plastic film with high elasticity and malleability, commonly used for packaging and bundling items. Its main feature is that it can stretch and wrap things securely, providing good protection and fixation. Stretch films are typically made from LDPE or LLDPE.

How To Choose Single-layer Or Double-layer Stretch Film?

Our CT-SW series has single-layer / double-layer stretch film blown film machine. The differences are:

  1. Market

Single-layer stretch film is adhesive on both sides; while double-layer stretch film is adhesive on only one side. Both types are used by customers, so the choice should be based on the demand of the local market.

  2. Glue cost

For example, use 50kg of material to produce single-layer stretch film, mixed with 5% glue, so the glue usage is 2.5kg; use 50kg of material to produce double-layer stretch film, two extruders 25kg each, one of the extruders is mixed with 5% glue, and the glue usage is only 1.25kg. Therefore, the glue usage for making double layer stretch film is less.

  3. Raw material selection

Double layer stretch film can have more material choices, which can reduce the cost of raw materials.

Stretch Film Uses
